McCord Library February Speakers Series

Friends of McCord Library invite you to attend their February 2015 Speakers Series. Programs are free and open to the public Saturdays at 10 a.m. at McCord Library, 32 West Main Street, North East.

February 7 – Cooking With Love with Chef Mike Ellis of The Cork 1794
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Mike will share his love and expertise for preparing appetizing dishes.

February 14 – Prehistoric Animals and the First People of Erie County with Scott McKenzie of Mercyhurst University
Our area has been under the ocean and frozen many times over the last 364 million years. Discover who may have lived in your backyard! Bring fossils, bones and odd rocks for free identification.

February 21 – Restoration of the Presque Isle Lighthouse by Eugene Ware, Treasurer for the Presque Isle Light Station
Exciting plans are underway to make the lighthouse accessible to the public.  Gene will give details forthe creation ofa visitor center and reestablishment of a washhouse, original barn, and fog signal house.

February 28 – Catastrophic Moments in History by Mike Kieffer
This photographic presentation depicts places where catastrophic events have occurred resulting in significant changes in human history.
