McCord Library Announces Their February Speaker Series

Friends of McCord Memorial Library invite you to attend their February Speaker Series. All presentations take place at the library, 32 West Main Street, North East at 10:00 am.

February 2, 2019
Lake Erie Shipwrecks:  History Preserved at the Bottom of the Great Lakes

Jeremy Bannister, a North East native and scuba diver, will share a diver’s perspective of the challenges and rewards of exploring the depths of Lake Erie in search of history.

Bogenshutz, Former Retail Store in North East
Chas Wagner, former North East School District teacher, will feature this “anchor store” which was operated by the family for three generations and sold a variety of household goods. The presentation was originally created by Mr. Wagner’s 2006 Class at North East Middle School.

“Curse of Oak Island” from the History Channel
Jim McQuiston, North East resident, has worked with treasure hunters on Oak Island, Nova Scotia for the past two years. Several major discoveries by McQuiston have been featured in the popular show.  Come join in the excitement and hear about who possibly buried the “treasure” and never retrieved it!  Event includes a book signing.

Rev. Matt Dennison, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, teaches how to determine the value of your books. Bring a book with you for Matt to evaluate.
