About the Keynote
Devan Lawton will present his Erie-Lackawanna Railway program at our annual banquet on Saturday, April 26th. Devan began working on the railroad in June of 1967. He just retired on January 31 after 45 1/2 years.

Devan’s program will be a slide presentation taken from March,1971 to March 31, 1976. Hired out in Buffalo, N.Y. his photography is mainly of the western New York area including the jointly owned Bison Yard– 50 / 50 with the Erie-Lackawanna Railway and the Norfolk & Western Railway. Most of the branches will be covered such as the City, Black Rock, Buffalo & Southwestern, Rochester and Niagara Falls branches along with the satellite yards in these areas. The Buffalo Creek Railroad is covered and to finish the program the E-L (Erie RR) main line to Hornell is included. Overall, a fascinating record of local railroad history.
