The War of 1812 ranged along much of the Great Lakes coastline where American, British and Native American forces clashed for control of the heart of the continent. Today, the Great Lakes Seaway Trail National Scenic Byway follows the front lines of the War of 1812 in the north. We invite you to experience the 9 walks in the War of 1812 Walk series as we commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and celebrate 200 years of peace between the U.S. and Canada.
Complete all 9 walks, collect all 9 pins!
The walks are sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association, so walkers who participate in Volkssport can earn credit ($3) for completing the walks. The walks are also open to the general public for free, and pins can be purchased for $5 after completing each walk.
