Fall Fun at the Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society

The Fort Leboeuf Historical Society has exciting events planned for the fourth quarter of 2015.  First up, October 17-18 kicks off the Haunted Historical Walks with the First Annual Fort LeBoo Fest, Oct. 17, 10-5 and Oct. 18, 12-5 at the Fort LeBoeuf Complex.  The walks will repeat Oct. 24-25. This fun family event will include a Scarecrow Contest, demonstrations, kids games, music, re-enactors, and more.

As always, the small but determined crew of the Fort Leboeuf Historical Society needs your help. Here are ways you could help support the FLB Historical Society to make this event a success.

SCARECROW CONTEST: FREE and open to individuals, families, groups and businesses.  We are seeking people to volunteer to create a scarecrow to add to scarecrow walk in 1 of 6 categories, Traditional, Creative, Historical, Kids, Group or Business. Fest attendees will be encouraged to vote for their favorites and winners will receive a trophy. Call JoAnne at 814-440-3044 to register your scarecrow or register online at SCARECROW REGISTRATION.

BAKE SALE: Please consider donating baked goods to benefit the Historical Society.  Cookies, loaves of quick breads, cupcakes, packaged to sell are greatly appreciated. Drop off at the Judson House, Saturday, Oct. 17, before Noon.  Questions, Call JoAnne at 814-440-3044.

VOLUNTEERS: Ticket sellers, set up help, food tent, bake sale staff, gift shop staff, kids games, contest counting, and more.  No matter what your physical condition we can find a job for you.  Want to know more or have questions, call JoAnne or join us at the FLB Museum, Sept. 30, 6:30 PM.

PROMOTION: Are you computer savvy and would like to help with social media, press releases and other marketing options?  We need your help.

WALKING TOUR GUIDES AND SUPPORT: Do you love sharing stories and history? We need help for any or all of the Haunted Historical Tours, Oct. 17-18, 3:30-8:30 or Oct. 24-25-5:30-8:30 PM.  and/or the Cemetery Tours, Oct. 17-18 at 1 and 3 PM. Training provided.

DEED DEDICATION CEREMONY: The Judson House and Fort LeBoeuf Museum are now owned by the Historical Society.  Help plan and present this Deed Dedication special event, Oct. 17, 2 PM.  Contact Judy Nelson at 814-796-4817.
