Family-Friendly Holiday Activities Abound

The fall and winter holiday season is the perfect time to take visiting friends and family to your favorite local sites and attractions. To help you plan your schedule and make sure that you don’t miss your favs, we’ve prepared a short list of upcoming family-friendly holiday activities.

Lake Shore Railway Museum’s Christmas at the Station
November 26th & 27th 12 pm – 4 pm
During this annual holiday weekend, visitors can see the museum and a model train display, ride the speeder car, and even eat lunch in a dining car.

Erie County Historical Society’s Victorian Christmas Open House
December 1st thru 4th
Experience the holiday magic of the Hagen History Center’s Watson-Curtze Mansion for FREE all weekend long.

Erie Art Museum’s Gallery Night
December 2nd 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Come explore the city’s galleries at one of Erie’s most unique Friday-night events! The Erie Art Museum, along with other independent galleries, will open their doors after-hours for a chance to explore the city’s vibrant arts scene. Each gallery offers its own exhibitions, entertainment, refreshments and vibes.

Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society’s Colonial Christmas
December 2nd thru 4th
The annual Colonial Christmas in Waterford is a time when the entire community comes together to celebrate the holidays.

Fairview Area Historical Society’s Christmas Open House
December 3rd 10 am – 4 pm and December 4th 12 noon – 4 pm
Old fashioned hospitality, wassail and cookies served to all who attend. On view, decorated-for-Christmas tables, Misery Bay Dulcimers will provide seasonal music, fire glowing in the fireplace, bake sale. Admission is free.

Asbury Woods 27th Annual Schoolhouse Craft Festival
December 3rd 10 am – 5 pm & December 4th 10 am – 4 pm
This annual tradition includes more than 130 juried crafters, live music and more!

North East Historical Society will be open for North East’s Sugar Plum Weekend
December 3rd & 4th

Erie Maritime Museum’s Christmas Tree Ship
December 9th 5:30 – 8:30 pm
This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, and will feature holiday fun for all. Activities include holiday crafts, letters to Santa, a chance to hear the story of the “real” Christmas Tree Ship, carolers, and the opportunity to meet Santa and his (live) reindeer!

expERIEnce Children’s Museum’s Polar Express PJ Party
December 10th 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Enjoy fresh popcorn as well as hot cocoa while you view The Polar Express from the ExpERIEnce stage. Santa will make a special appearance and present a bell to each child. Come dressed in your favorite pajamas!

Asbury Woods Winter Wonderland
December 16th – 18th, 27th – 30th 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Winter Wonderland features a lit boardwalk trail, the musical light show in the Otto Behrend Celebration Garden, holiday music, children’s crafts and more.
