Sundae Sundays at Hurry Hill Farm & Maple Syrup Museum

October Sundaes are so called because the Edinboro Area Historical Society serves as hosts at the Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum during every Sunday afternoon in October. The society prepares enormous maple sundaes and sells them for $3 each. The Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum provides both the ice cream and locally produced maple syrup and donates all proceeds to the Edinboro Area Historical Society.

Come out to the Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum on Fry Road, north of Crane Road to learn how maple syrup and maple products are made. Ride the golf cart or take an interpretive walk out the one-half mile lane to the Sugar House and see firsthand were next spring the fresh maple sap will be boiled down into that wonderful elixir called maple syrup.

Also find out about the 1957 Newbery Award winning children’s book Miracles on Maple Hill by Edinboro author Virginia Sorensen. Listen to Janet Woods as she explains how Sorensen used local residents as models for the characters in her book. See and Hold the actual Newbery Medal.

Maple syrup and maple products are available at the maple museum’s gift shop as well. This is a good time to start your Christmas shopping by getting all your friends and relatives quality maple products made right here in our own Washington Township.

October Sundaes will happen from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum on the following Sunday afternoons in October: 6th, 13th, 20, and 27th.

Bring grandma, grandpa, Aunt Ethel and Uncle Fred; gather up all the kids and and head out to the Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum for a great afternoon in the country. Drive out Fry Road and support the Edinboro Area Historical Society and the Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum, have a fun time, and enjoy a GREAT maple sundae!
