199th Commemoration of the Battle of Lake Erie

The Erie Maritime Museum and the Flagship Niagara League invite all of Erie to join them in honoring those who served in the Battle of Lake Erie at their annual commemoration ceremony, Monday, September 10, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at the Perry Monument on Presque Isle State Park.

The memorial service will include remarks by noted Battle of Lake Erie scholar Allan Belovarac, Ph.D., Professor of History, Mercyhurst College, and musical interludes by Lake Erie Sound, closing with a wreath-laying on the waters of Misery Bay and a cannon salute.

The event is open to the public free of charge.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place on the Niagara Plaza behind the Erie Maritime Museum; watch our website www.flagshipniagara.org for announcement of weather change, if needed.
